Congenital Heart Disease
To speak with a congenital heart disease specialist, call 410-328-1344.
Congenital heart disease is a category of heart abnormalities that are present at birth. The abnormality often develops during pregnancy and can even be diagnosed before the baby is born.
Congenital heart patients have many unique needs, both as children and later as adults. Our pediatric and adult congenital heart teams work together, following our patients as they transition from child to adult care while helping them live long, full, healthy lives.
The University of Maryland treats all forms of congenital heart disease, treating as each patient as an individual with different needs. See congenital heart patient stories here.
